Dear Candidate or people in general,

There is an ongoing trend of presenting your desired location as your current location?

I get it, the deal is to attract Recruiters/Headhunters/Talent Sourcers /HR personnel e.t.c to your profile and possibly get them to contact and possibly connect you to some pretty cool job offers that of course line up with your experience and skillset but what happens after they find out that you are currently not located where you say you are?

Picture this, ‘Newsflash I’m actually located in Venus but I’ll like to move to Saturn so I put my location as Saturn’  WHAT? (Likely internal reaction of the person who contacted you) or they would probably just turn Unresponsive.

By all means, put your best foot forward but providing misleading or exaggerated information about your self would simply portray you as someone with a questionable character.

I don’t think you would find any company culture that favours that kind of behaviour. So be careful not to soil your ‘good name’, if they are not willing to hire you from where you are, then let them be!

I wish you God’s speed!
