Picture this, 'Newsflash I'm actually located in Venus but I'll like to move to Saturn so I put my location as Saturn' WHAT? (Likely internal reaction of the person who contacted you) or they would probably just turn Unresponsive.
Afterwards, ask for some feedback about their impression of you and the areas for suggested improvements. I'll advise against asking them to 'specifically tell you why you were not selected, this might discourage them from responding to you.
A considerable time for me would be 2-3 days where a specific time frame was given and has elapsed and in instances where no time was given, 1 week after should be fine.
